"Wake up everyday and know, no matter what, I have people who support, love and appreciate who I’m. Those are few people, I can count on my fingers, but they are incredible special to me!" Fernando you’re one of those,
I love you.❤️
And that is what lifts me.

What lifts you?

To me…Life is like a collection of empty boxes. We are responsible for filling them up with any possible content that we believe it’s worth carrying with us. Co creation means choosing the best that this universe has to offer us, and carefully placing it inside the boxes. Happiness is a state of soul. Just make sure your boxes are full with aromas, colors, feelings and energy that makes that vibrant joy be a constant state. They are there for a reason. It’s always up to us at the end of the day…all memories are worthy. All content is part of our experience…let’s choose great things! 😉✨🌟✨

Dance is for everybody. I believe that the dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people.

"I’ve been dancing for 17 years. I started dancing at the age 8y at Projeto Dancando para nao Dancar at Vila Olimpica da Mangueira. My first ballet teacher it was Theresa Aguilar. I came to Dance Theatre of Harlem when I was 19 years old from Brazil. I came for a summer program at Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2007 and then joined the school’s Professional Training Program. I became a member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble in 2008 and the new DTH company in 2012 (…) My family always supported me in dance, and my mom used to take my brother and I to ballet classes after school everyday. I studied dance at the Deborah Colker School and Escola de Dança Maria Olenewa. I also apprenticed with Company Grupo Corpo in Brazil (…) I hope inspire young dancers and underprivileged youth by showing them that they, too, can pursue their dreams. With hard work and dedication, they can become whatever they aspire to be. Social justice refers to the ability people have to realize their own potential (…) It doesn’t matter where you are from; what matters is where you see yourself going (…) I would like to see more black dancers in classical ballet, especially black girls studying and performing ballet (…) My example is this: I came from a favela in Brazil, I’m black, I have a poor family that have always supported me and yet, despite all those odds, I became a ballerina."🙏👏
